1 introduction
In the traditional shipboard radar computer system, uses (A, B machine) generally the system: A machine is responsible for the data gathering, the track, resolving, is called the duty computer; B machine is responsible for the radar synthesis situation and the correlation data demonstration and the control, simultaneously completes to each kind of connection operation, is called the man-machine connection computer. Between A, B machine through sharing memory block exchange data. In this kind of system, uses the military reinforcement machine, A machine and the radar meet the oral plate, the antenna bearing to meet the oral plate and so on to be connected, but B machine needs the control operation many kinds of connection board card, like the demonstration meets the oral plate, to the external connection oral plate, the data storage plate, the network interface board and so on. Simultaneously in the system also has each kind to use in the guiding radar extension telephone’s small system, like server; Provides the naval vessel latitude and longitude information the GPS system, these small systems and between B machine carries on the correspondence through the serial port. Obviously, the tradition computer system group forming card many, various boards card function sole, the system composition structure is complex, reliability bad, and the data exchange efficiency is low, in many batch of goal’s situations, is possibly unable to complete the data exchange and the track settles accounts.
In order to adapt the Modern Radar to request the volume which the computer system has to be small, the function strong, easy to maintain the characteristic, in this article, has used the SmartModule module, large-scale FPGA and the specific IC has made the bold improvement to the traditional radar computer system. The new system has the group forming card to be few, the veneer function strong, the system composition structure is simple, the reliability is high, the data exchange efficiency is high, the extendibility is strong, cost low characteristic.
2 computer system’s composition with realizes
The new computer system is composed of 2 single board computers. The duty computer and the man-machine connection computer’s hardware constitution is completely same, they complete the respective function through the internal different software. The duty computer mainly through the FPGA radar connection gathering data, and carries on the object detection enrollment to the data, track resolving. Because has used high speed CPU and large-scale FPGA, sharpened the data handling ability and the speed enormously. The man-machine connection computer is responsible for the diffraction grating display control, the radar control, the data storage, simultaneously complete each kind of foreign connection the operation. The duty computer and the man-machine connection computer through pair of mouth RAM, the network or the high speed main line carries on the data exchange.
As shown in Figure 1, the computer board by the SmartModule computer module, demonstrates part constitutions and so on connection, foreign connection, radar control, electronic plate, network, pair of mouth RAM, FPGA. Very obvious, compares with the old system, the new system’s group forming card big reduction, the integration rate strengthens, originally meets oral plate’s function now completely and on together the computer board, like this enhanced system’s reliability and the easy maintenance, because has used the network, the system foreign correspondence efficiency enhances greatly.

2.1SmartModule module synopsis
The SmartModule module is Switzerland Digital logic (Digital-Logic) Corporation’s miniaturized monolithic PC system unit, similar nowadays world popular single chip system SOC(SystemOnChip), is compatible with standard PC/. He has the modulation, the seriation, the structure to be exquisite, the function formidable, the easy later period to reinforce, characteristics and so on radiation processing.
In the actual design uses the SmartModuleP5PC-266 module, constitution diagram as shown in Figure 2, outward appearance as shown in Figure 3. The concrete technical specification is as follows:

2.2 based on SmartModule computer board design synopsis
Although SmartModule compatible PC/AT system, but its function is incomplete, but also needs to carry on the corresponding expansion, can take the radar computer’s embedded application satisfiedly. Mainly contains the part below based on the SmartModule computer board:
SmartModuleP5PC-266 module, radar control connection, demonstration connection, electronic plate, pair of mouth RAM, foreign connection, network interface, interrupt expansion and so on. Below introduces its main part briefly:
(1) electronic plate large capacity storage space is carries on the system software installment, the program debugging, the data storage to, therefore the system uses M-system Corporation’s DOC2000 series electron plate to carry on the expansion, storage capacity 2M~1GB. The DOC series electron plate size is small, the connection is simple, the capacity is big, has become the embedded application the first choice memory type. DOC2000 outward appearance as shown in Figure 4.

(2) foreign connection to carry on the data communication and the control with other equipment, like the GPS equipment, the missile director, platform Luo Jing, record the farewell gift of travel expenses, the touchscreen, the mouse and so on. Therefore the system used TI Corporation’s TLl6C554 chip to expand 8 RS232/422 serial ports on the board.
(3) network interface uses Intel Corporation’s 82559 pair of redundant 10/100M auto-adapted network card is this system’s luminescent spot.
(4) interrupt expands, because the SmartModule module itself has 16 levels of interrupts, moreover his interior has used majority of interrupts, speaking of the user, the available interrupt number are few, must therefore to interrupt carries on the expansion. The system used FPGA to interrupt has carried on the expansion.
(5)FPGA completes the radar connection, functions and so on data detection enrollment, decoding, interrupt expansion. The large-scale programmable logical component’s use has saved the space greatly, raised the efficiency.
3 conclusions
This article through introduced briefly to SmartModule, in union work actual situation, simple declaration it in embedded radar computer system’s design application. The new system has the group forming card to be few, the veneer function strong, the system composition structure is simple, the reliability is high, the data exchange efficiency is high, extendibility strong characteristic. Already obtained the practice confirmation in some miniaturized radar, is a radar computer system’s beneficial attempt.
